Microsoft is moving its meetings to tree houses in the woods. Those rustic creations were executed by Pete Nelson from the TV show "Treehouse Masters". Microsoft is not the only company that is switching to new office solutions, Apple is showing off with its spaceshipy one, Amazon and Facebook are also on the way to fascinate us with theirs. If only they applied as much effort to their actual fields, you know... Or at least made their products less expensive, since they have so much money to renovate.
In other random news, Dubai police has a hover bike. It will be a nice addition to their tech collection consisting of the pilot-less passenger drone and the famous robocop (which won't be alone for long, they're planning to get him a big robofamily, in the amount of 25% of all police force... Should we be worried?).
I've discovered this book a few months ago (unfortunately, not in a library like the protagonist), and couldn't put it down for days (it's 600 pages long), but there was so much tension, that I took a break hoping that a bit of detachment would help to get through with it faster. It didn't work, the second I opened it yesterday all of it returned to me. I did finish it finally with the help of "camomile tea and breaks for yoga". I know, bed time stories are supposed to be light and this is a complete opposite. It's full of suspense and dramatic moments with escalating stakes, the most intense scenes are arranged in a masterful fashion through the pages with long periods of breaks that give the reader some time to regroup and gather some knowledge (but there was sometimes too much water, I admit, and things that are too obvious and repetitive). This aspect is covered well by the author, the captivation is there an...
Prague is a beautiful, magical and romantic place. The trip was rather spontaneous and short, only 3 days. But I would never regret that I decided to go so abruptly. The main sights are situated in downtown, but even if your hotel is not in the center of the city, like it was in my case when I stayed at Olšanka , you can still enjoy the walk to downtown, every building is a piece of art. There are a lot of trees and flowers around and brick sidewalks. If you are lazy, you can use underground, it’s cheap. There are only a few lines of underground, because the city is not as big as megalopolises like New York or Moscow. The green line goes through all city and over the river, so it’s suitable for people who want to get to the main sights. My hotel was situated near Flora station, but I only used it once. There is a big mall called Atrium Flora for shopping lovers and a gothic looking graveyard for those who have dark tendencies or are interested in history. ...
People in the US are quite spoiled, not that much can surprise them these days. Dogs having Halloween photo-shoots in funny suits on the pumpkin patch and drones with a ghost figure attached to them flying around to scare the crowd - they have it all. But boy, were they really prepared for a tank on the streets? Apparently, not. One clearly rich (and doesn't that mean really great at his job) attorney from Houston decided that a car lately isn't enough for him and bought a real tank. And not just a tank. It was a perfectly restored and still functional M4 Sherman that he got from overseas. That grandpa has a whole fighting history of going through Europe and defeating Nazis during WW2. If it were a soldier made of flesh its chest would probably be proudly filled with lots of medals. This one in particular landed at Normandy and was used in liberating Paris after which it was taken to Berlin to finish what it started. ...
